We learnt this week that we were successful in winning the tender for development of promotional materials for the Skills for Care Apprenticeships campaign.
Congratulations to all the DJ team, we’re all looking forward to getting started.

Had to share this with you.
I took Grandma H to Wimbledon last week as a birthday surprise. As you can see she thoroughly enjoyed herself and even dressed up for the occasion, and yes she did drink all that jug of Pimm’s to herself, not bad for 89 – that must be where I get it from!

There’s nothing more annoying than having a spot of lunch on a Friday afternoon with your digital colleagues and the table your sat at is constantly swaying.
I knew there was a good reason why we had our DJ business cards foil-blocked onto 1200 micron board. Rumours have it that this is an aggressive DJ gorilla marketing campaign throughout Leeds – keep your eyes peeled.
- Jason.
My iPhone and me all alone in Manchester airport the night before my flight - thought I’d share it with you!
- Jason.
Thought this would make good reading on the plane - no sarcastic comments please!
- Jason.
The stats – a relationship spanning over four years, a three month project, a two night stay in Dubai and one objective – to deliver the best stand in their industry - job done!
it was great to experience first hand the gratitude for all our hard work. Subsequently, the exhibition stand created a wealth of interest and hopefully for DSE potentially new and expanding business.
On a personal note, thank you to the DSE Sales team for making me feel both welcome and productive - next China!!!
- Jason.
We have a couple of things to celebrate first week back in 2010. Not only is it our 10th birthday, but we’ve also refreshed the DJ website in preparation for the new decade.
Hope you like the team effort in producing our very own birthday cake – don’t worry, we won’t give up the day jobs!
Happy New Year to one and all.
- Jason.
I can’t believe its almost 10 years to the day, it was Boxing Day, we’d had Christmas lunch at the inlaws, all the family had settled down to watch a film. Me – I was tucked in the corner on my father-in-laws Apple mac designing the original DJ corporate ID.
A week later I was off in business, Ventura, Green Flag, UKI, RBS, RHS, Playboy, all within the first year – I’d even met and shook hands with Paul McCartney – long story!
It all seems a blur now that back bedroom, an Apple 9500 and me.
I’ve met some fantastic people over the years, many of which have become great friends right from the off. I personally want to give a big thank you to everyone who has given us their support and custom over the years.
Here’s to the next 10!!!
- Jason.
Just picked up some samples of the handy little print swatch we’ve designed for Wyke Printers. These are literally hot of the press and just in time for our trip to London to the LLUK conference where they will be unveiled.
We’re really pleased with it, even if we say so!
Anyone wants one, give us a shout!
- Jason.
It’s been another hard working week for the DJ team, often working late into the early hours. Jonny opting for continental shifts on standby to assist in the successful launch of Andy Bond’s presentation in London ‘The Dawn of a Democratic Age: Empowering The New Consumer’. Our role within the collaboration - to design the presentation.
I received several calls of praise, one of which sums up this week:
‘THE BEST AGENCY WE HAVE WORKED WITH’.

We were shopping at Asda Wakefield Monday for a background image for the ‘Your Asda’ blog page.
Check it out – http://your.asda.com

Simple Martyn, arrive at DSE at five Monday morning, film the clouds above the factory on a three hour time lapse.
This was take two, Thursday morning – typical, not a cloud in the sky.
Commitment Mr Greswolde!
– Jason
Came across this image in my iphone which I’d forgotten about. Look who I bumped into whilst visiting the Silverstone Classics with Denis and David from KKI.
Apparently, he never wears a seatbelt, not even on a plane.
- Jason.
A three day trip to the East coast last week – not on a short family break, but art directing a corporate video for DSE in Filey. We got some cracking footage, met some great characters and gained a greater understanding into the companies operation.
End result so far, a night out with the management team (TBC) and an East coast bike trip – slight problem, failed to tell John from Customer Service that I haven’t got a motorbike at present!
Watch out for the video, will post some footage soon!
– Jason.
Junx must be working hard this week, I’ve cooked my MacBook battery. Take a look, it’s expanded around the waist – no funny comments please!!!
- Jason.
In our attempt to get out more, Mike and I embarked on a day trip to Aberdeen (via private learjet) to join the Koso Kent Introl gents, who were in full sales flow. Being the biggest of it’s kind, Offshore Europe 2009, gave DJ a rare glimpse into the Oil and Gas industry.
Take a closer look, is that Prash (looking ‘dapper’ in the suit) selling luncheon vouchers?
- Jason
P.s Forgot to mention we spent five hours in Aberdeen airport!!!!!
This sign always makes me chuckle when we do our weekly shop at Asda.
- Jason
The DJ brand got a mention in the Leeds Media Bulletin (No.36/09) promoting the launch of Digital Junkie.
In case you haven’t already – take a look; www.digitaljunkie.co.uk
Nice one Suki.
- Jason.
It’s true, I’m back online ‘Twittering’ after popular demand.
Follow me at twitter.com/junxster to keep up with my antics!
Jason
I’m sure by now you’ve all seen the NatWest home insurance advert on TV, the one which shows the print production of a leaflet. is it me or is the registration out on the NW logo? Have a look next time.
May be I need to get out more!!!

Fast approaching 49, Winston feels its time for you to capitalise on his superior wisdom and knowledge. Starting today he will be posting an interesting fact every Friday, which he hopes will impress your friends and colleagues.
For his first entry, he has picked something very topical:
Did you know a sneeze travels out of your mouth at over 100mph?
- Jason/Winston.
It’s been a long and turbulent relationship between Adam and his car, which came to a dramatic climax yesterday. He’s considering taking up the Government on their Scrappage Programme offer.
Anyone got any advice for Ad?
- Jason.
The creative team embarked on a journey across the A1 to join up with IMP Media guys for a ‘think-tank’ session. The end result was a vandalised flip chart and a clear direction for Asda’s latest media concept.
Another late night!!!
- Jason.
At last our hard working digital team get the recognition they deserve. Good work Junkies.
- Jason.
Congratulations to Julie who completed 5k ‘Race for Life’ in 27 minutes and all for a good cause.
And congratulations to ‘Our Bev’ (Jonny’s mum) who has made a full recovery from breast cancer
- Jason.
If your reading this article, you’ve probably noticed we have updated our homepage. We’ve given our work the chance to speak for itself, have a listen, tells us what you think.
- Jason.
It appears we have yet another ‘fitness freak’ in our team. Julie has been ‘persuaded’ to enter the ‘Cancer Research UK’s Huddersfield Race for Life’ event this weekend by our long-standing friend and work colleague Samantha Earnshaw, Marketing Manager of International Personal Finance – good luck ladies, all for a good cause!
- Jason.
71.6 miles, four hours and two sore cheeks. A great day out enjoyed by all.
Thats me right at the back there!
Next stop, Manchester to Blackpool, Sunday 12 July - anyone care to join me?
- Jason.
Hopefully, you’ll agree we are a talented bunch, but we’ve discovered a hidden talent in the form of fairies - making them that is!
Julie enjoys making fairies in her spare time and I hear has a website in the pipeline for those fairy fanatics amongst you.
We’ll keep you posted.
- Jason.
His lordship is currently sunbathing by the studio window after devouring fish, chips and a sausage. It’s a hard life.
Come on Jonny, wake up!!!
- Jason.
We’re currently working on new creative for the Wyke Printers website and whilst on the subject, we thought this would we quite appropriate for printers everywhere... there’s a lot of love in the air!
- Jason.
You can probably appreciate that my local gym has become a quieter place since I have been sent ‘on my bike’.
One year ago, one barbecue and several beers, resulted in me agreeing to participate in a 70 mile charity bike ride. The event is the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride and is to be held this weekend, Saturday 13 June, from Wetherby race course to Filey.
What I haven’t given any consideration to yet is how I’m going to get back from Filey – may have to ask James if I can sleep over at DSE?
Wish me look, it’s for a good cause!
- Jason.
There's nothing better than a boys night in with my son Jadon and bulldog Winston - Pizza Hut takeaways all round, Rockband and a Sky movie! (even if i did fall asleep after an hour into the film). That's good old fashioned male bonding in my book.
- Jason.
Julie (the wife) and I decided to celebrate my 41st birthday by paying a visit to Burghley House, Stamford, Lincs, to take in some historic culture and enjoy a picnic in the gardens. Was a great weekend, it's surprising how much England still has to offer after 41 years. And I made a new friend!
- Jason.
I’ve had this image saved on my iphone for a while now and thought it best to break the truth on my blog. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it clearly states on our website, and I quote ‘it’s about generating great ideas and finding a way to make them happen’ – true to out word, this was the case. Whilst shooting a video for Arla Foods a few months ago i took it upon myself to source the props...
After a long plea and telling my wife she look liked she had lost some weight, I finally convinced her that our new standard lamp and chaise longue were to be used in a clinically-clean photography studio and that they would return safely in one piece. What I failed to tell Julie was that the studio happened to be a milking shed!!!
All's well that ends well, Adele and Oliver from Arla were over the moo!!!
- Jason.
Everyday is a day to remember, this one will be known as the day that Junx started his online chatter. I hope you'll all find my updates interesting and entertaining, welcome to living life as a proper Junkie.
